I was so tired of hearing the  Democrat’s “Trump’s War of Choice” talking point repeated ad nauseum  by politicians, pundits, talking heads, and other “useful idiots,” that I decided to take a deep dive researching the long-standing conflict  between Iran and the United States.  What I found out was eye opening and I began to wonder why the United States  took so long to take  major military action against the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism.  You see, we have been in an undeclared war with Iran since November 4, 1979.  Since that date more Americans have been killed by Iran and their  proxies than any other terrorist state or group in the world.

In this essay I will take a look at Iran’s war with the United States.  I will provide a summary beginning in 1979 of actions committed or funded by Iran to kill Americans.   Iran’s theocratic dictatorship considers the United States “The Great Satan,” and has been trying to fulfill their “Death to America” mission for 47 years.  Until President Trump took action to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities, our political leadership could be compared to an ostrich with its head in the sand ignoring the war with Iran and hoping it will  go away if we just play nice.

Below is a partial timeline of Iranian sponsored attacks on Americans during Iran’s “Death to America” War, (source: whitehouse.gov and The U.S. Embassy and Consulates in China):

  • November 1979:  Initially 66 Americans were taken hostage by Iranian-regime backed students who stormed the U.S. embassy in Tehran. The hostages were brutally tortured during their 444-day captivity.  Many hostages suffered lifelong mental and physical ailments due to their torture.

As the above list illustrates,  President Trump’s “War of Choice” is actually a “War of Survival for our Way of Life.”  The military action taken by our President is 47 years overdue.  In my opinion it would have been possible grounds for impeachment had President Trump not acted to protect  the United States from Iran.  Iran is an enemy who has been killing our citizens for almost 50 years. President  Trump’s bold action will help make the world safer from Iranian-backed terrorists and lead to increased economic prosperity by:

·       Eliminating Iran’s nuclear threat.

·       Decimating their military capabilities.

·       Cripple the Iranian economy with the blockade thus hampering their financial capacity to  support terrorist proxies worldwide.

·       Changing  the world’s oil distribution dynamics.  Iran will no longer  have a stranglehold  on the world’s oil supply through control of the Straits of Hormuz.  Oil dependent nations can now turn to the U.S. to fulfill their need for a stable and safe flow of oil.

I know this may sound a bit provocative, but defeating Iran on the battlefield may be the easy part.  The difficult part will be assuring Iran’s compliance with any peace agreement.  Iran is notoriously two-faced concerning treaties and agreements.  Iran’s leaders agree to  one thing and then do the opposite.  Iranians are highly skilled at using deception in negotiations.

Keeping Iran on the straight and narrow will require a global effort.  At home the Democrat party needs to discard their typical partisan power plays against all things Trump.  Note to Schumer and Jeffries:

“Put country before party and become part of the solution to our conflict with Iran.  By working  with the Trump administration to ratify a treaty with Iran, you may gain more political capital than by being an obstacle.”

We came together as a nation after 9/11.  We can’t afford to wait to unify until after New York City becomes a nuclear devastated wasteland at the hands of an Iranian proxy .  We are at a critical juncture in world history that goes way beyond U.S. partisan politics.  I call on all Americans to embody the same spirit of the patriots who forged this nation 250 years ago and stop Iran’s “Death to America” mission.
